The Car
1968 Camaro "PRO STREET"

Boo considers a chrome molley tube chassis to be an advantage in drag racing. "They bend in the right way", explains Boo. So a chrome molley frame was the foundation of Boo's wish list for a race car. He kept watch on 6 different sales sites for 2 years before he found the car he wanted. He heard that Steve Carrier's '68 Camaro was for sale and Boo was already familiar with the car, having seen it in "Hot Rod Magazine". Boo bought the car as a "roller"-- no engine or transmission. A 427 cubic inch motor was located and freshened up with a roller cam and two four barrels on a tunnel ram manifold. The motor was attached to a "Lenco" four speed transmission and installed in the bright yellow Camaro. Boo and Burleigh were admiring the beautiful creation one day and decided it looked like a very fast banana. The car has been called "The Nuclear Banana" ever since.

A 632 cubic inch “Scott Shafiroff” Engine was inserted for the 2003 season. (A spare that Flippy had laying around), and in the Fall of 2004 a 706 cubic inch “Fulton” Engine was purchased.

Here is a list of Specifications for the Car and the 706 Engine. (For the enjoyment of you “Gearheads” out there).
